When you buy a beautiful piece of diamond jewellery from Stunning Diamonds
it is important to look after it properly! Cleaning your diamond jewellery
on a regular basis helps keep it looking shiny like new...
CLEANING YOUR DIAMOND JEWELLERY
Diamond rings and other precious jewels
worn daily require additional care from time to time. A diamond ring may
be affected or damaged by some harsh chemicals and activities. We
recommend you take off your diamond jewels before attending to household
chores to avoid harsh wear and tear.
Regular wear and tear should also be considered
because through daily activities a diamond ring can get dirty. They are
prone to dust and dirt, even though you take them off when doing
household chores. Soaps, lotions, and other natural skin oils can cause
residue which dulls the sparkle of your diamond ring.
SHINY LIKE NEW
So to keep your jewels shiny like they were when you
first opened your Stunning Diamonds gift box you should wash them regularly. Cleaning is as
simple as getting a small soft bristled brush and warm soapy water. Soak
it while you’re in the shower or putting on your make up. After soaking
gently scrub it with the brush, don’t forget the bottom of the
diamond(s), rinse in fresh water and dry with a soft towel or blow dry
for an even finish.
In some situations your ring may require something a
bit stronger than soap and water. Use a combination of half water and
half ammonia, soak your diamond ring for 30 minutes, gently brush it
with a soft brush, rinse and dry. As an alternative, you can use a jewellery cleaning kit. Keep it by your bathroom sink and once a week give
your jewels a bath.
Running out the door to a dinner party? Not enough
time to clean your ring? Here is a quick fix…sprits your ring with a
grease cutter like Windex, rinse thoroughly and dry. Not recommended
regularly.
CHECKUP
Besides cleaning your ring on a regular basis,
don’t forget to check your setting every 6 to 12 months. A simple home
test is to shaking your ring by your ear and listen carefully. If you
hear a clicking sound that means your diamond is loose and you need to
see your jeweller to make any necessary repairs to avoid damage or loss
of the diamond. Or take your ring to a jeweller once a year for a check up.
STORING YOUR DIAMOND JEWELRY
It is recommended that you store your diamond
jewels in a fabric lined case when you are not wearing them.
